The International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) Council has decided to move the IASP World Congress on Pain in Amsterdam, 27 June - 1 July 2021 to a virtual experience, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

GENERAL

Why are you moving this to a virtual event?

Our primary objective for cancelling the in-person event is the health and safety of our attendees, speakers, industry partners, staff and their families. 

When is the next Congress?
The IASP 2022 World Congress on Pain will be held in-person 19-23 September, in Toronto, Canada. The Refresher course, Satellite Symposia and Hands-on Workshops are scheduled 19 September 2022.
Is the program content for 2022 going to change?
Yes. There will be a new submission process for the 2022 scientific program, including new plenary speakers, topical workshops, hands-on workshops, satellite symposia and refresher courses; details will be announced in the coming months.

REGISTRATION

I have completed registration for 2021. What do I need to do? 

As a registered attendee for the Congress, you have three options:

  • Transfer your registration to the IASP 2022 World Congress on Pain, 19-23 September, Toronto, Canada
  • Request a full refund
  • Donate your registration fees to IASP for the developing country attendee fund.

If I cancel now, can I register again later?
Yes. To re-register, send an email to iaspregistration@spargoinc.com.
I received financial aid for 2021 Congress. Will it be valid for the 2022 Congress?
2021 financial aid recipients will need to reapply for financial aid for 2022 Congress. As a 2021 financial aid recipient, you  do have free access to the multidisciplinary scientific content through the IASP Virtual Series on Pain & Expo, which takes place through March 2021. The series features live and pre-recorded content, an exhibit hall, poster abstracts, networking and the opportunity to earn CE/CME. You will also receive free access to any Congress-related virtual education in 2021. 

SPEAKERS AND POSTERS

My poster was accepted for the 2021 Congress. Do I need to resubmit the poster for the 2022 Congress?
Yes, there will be a new poster submission process for the IASP 2022 World Congress on Pain; details will be announced in the coming months.

HOTEL

I have already made a hotel reservation. How do I cancel it?
All attendees will need to cancel their existing reservations. You will receive an email from RAI Housing Service asking if you want to do so. Please email questions directly to hotelservices@rai.nl.
I used a third-party site to make hotel reservations. How do I cancel?
IASP can only assist with reservations made via the RAI Housing website. If you made your reservation directly with the hotel or through a third party (Expedia, Hotels.com, etc.), you must contact them to cancel any reservations. 

EXHIBITORS & SUPPORTERS

IASP is holding a booking for our company for the face to face - World Congress on Pain 2021, what will happen now that it is virtual?

There will be a number of opportunities for companies to participate in the World Congress on Pain virtual event. Follow-up on your specific booking and any funds currently held for those bookings will be communicated individually in January by Sarah Wheeler, our Director of Global Industry Engagement.

Where can we find information on Industry Partner opportunities for the virtual edition of World Congress on Pain 2021?

A full list of exhibit and support opportunities to engage with the World Congress on Pain, will be available on the Congress Website 29th January, 2021.
Where can we find information on the 2022 (face to face) World Congress on Pain, Toronto, Canada, 19-23 September?

The 2022 Exhibitor and Support prospectus will be available on the website February 20, 2021.
